Als junge Pädagogin brachte Frau Dr. Huang Mei 500 junge Chinesen zur Expo 2000 nach Hannover. Daraufhin gründete sie die jährlich stattfindenden deutsch-chinesischen Jugendtage. Sie arbeitet auch als Kuratorin und stellte zahlreiche deutsche expressionistische Künstler in China aus.
