In der Gießener Messehalle fand am 29. November 2025 die Neugründung der AfD-Jugendorganisation „Generation Deutschland“ statt. Die Veranstaltung wurde von massiven Protesten und großen Polizeieinsätzen begleitet. Die teils eskalierenden Auseinandersetzungen prägten den gesamten Ablauf des Treffens.
