One day maybe, in some distant time when humanity has passed through puberty into adulthood, people will look back at the rigid, unquestioned, religious beliefs of today and long past, and see them for what they were – calculated traps to hijack perception, limit a sense of the possible, and fault-lines to divide and rule the target population They will see that ‘scientific’ orthodoxy was just another religion to achieve the same end. Closed minds are essential to religious dogma so the dogma is never questioned or breached. Open minds by contrast are destined to be labelled mad, bad and dangerous. This is why religious orthodoxy, in whatever form, is a repeating loop of perpetual belief and why only mavericks who won’t be branded have ever moved us on.
