Hong Kong Researchers Aim to Generate Electricity with Raindrops

Did you know that a single raindrop can generate enough power to briefly light up to 100 small LED bulbs? Well, it can, and researchers at City University of Hong Kong say they’re getting close to harnessing that untapped potential to generate electricity. They call their invention the droplet-based electricity generator, or D-E-G for short.
