Scientists Use CRISPR-Cas9 to Rewrite DNA Inside a Person for First Time

For the first time, scientists are using the CRISPR-Cas9 gene-editing technique on DNA that is still inside a person’s body. Harvard Medical School professor of ophthalmology Eric Pierce is leading the team that seeks to use the microscopic gene-editing tool to restore the vision of someone blinded by a genetic disorder.
